Any enquiries by parents or students concerning GCSE examinations in the School should be directed to the School's Examinations Officer.  The Examinations Office is open Monday to Friday between 9 am and 4 pm.  If the enquiry concerns subject detail then please contact the Subject Leader.

GCSE Examinations - Announcement on 7th February

We wanted to provide a brief update on the recent announcement regarding GCSE examinations in the summer 2022.

There are five key points:

  • Changes to coursework

Non-exam assessment and fieldwork requirements have been adjusted, with flexibility in some subjects, e.g. Geography.

  • Optional content

There will be less content or fewer topics to learn in some GCSEs.

  • Support material

You will get formulae and equation sheets in some exams (e.g. Maths and Science).

  • Advance information

Exam boards will give information on the focus of exams for most subjects to help you revise. More information can be found here.

  • Generous grading

Exams will be graded more generously this year.
