Student Council

Mission Statement

At East Bergholt High School, the student council is a democratically elected body which is designed to represent all those who are in attendance. Through collaboration with students, staff and the wider community, the council aims to create an environment where everyone can be their best, making a real difference to the lives of the young people who come through the doors of the school.

This forum, re-established each year in September, provides students with the opportunity to share their opinions of East Bergholt High School to ensure it is an inclusive and safe space for students to thrive emotionally, socially and academically. The council exists to remove barriers that the student population raises, meeting regularly to work on projects identified by the council itself that will enhance the student experience.

Our student councillors develop their leadership skills by being invited to become part of the decision-making process within the school. They are conscientious, responsible and dedicated, serving a full year on the council to achieve the agreed goals that have been set.

The council, supported by the senior leadership team, is comprised of our head and deputy head students, along with four members of each year group. The council respects and listens to all views shared and, by being a vehicle for student participation, it ultimately exists to enrich the lives of every student.
